When traveling out west, here is some advice: never squat with your spurs on.
This bit of humor was brought to you by the Fairbury Rotary Club as Steve Weeks gave a presentation to the group Tuesday on a trail ride he took a few years back in southern Utah and the Grand Canyon.
Weeks and his wife, Beth, started at Zion National Park during the June 2014 trip and stayed in a small house on a ranch. Their travels then took them to Bryce Canyon where they rode horses and mules. One day, they even rode 33 miles. Many areas required specialized permits for entry and they saw some of the oldest trees on Earth.
The third day included a visit to Dixie National Forest, the home territory of Butch Cassidy. That was followed by a tour of Grand Canyon National Park.
