The Prairie Central varsity boys basketball team got a couple of wins over the weekend while the girls lost in the IPC/Sangamo Shootout.
Defense was the focus of Friday night’s boys game against Illini Prairie Conference foe Unity High School as the Hawks won 45-36. In the hard fought battle by both teams at Fairbury, Drew Fehr and Dylan Bazzell had 16 points, Tyler Curl contributed 7 and Gage Steidinger had 5.
PC was also successful in the boys Beecher Shootout held at Grant Park High School Saturday afternoon as the Hawks defeated Beecher 63-39. Leading scorers included Tyler Curl with 16, Dylan Bazzell with 15, Drew Fehr with 12, Gage Steidinger 8 and Camden Palmore chipping in 6 points.
Girls fall to Pleasant Plains Saturday
PC’s Lady Hawks fell in a close one to Pleasant Plains 43-42 Saturday afternoon. Chloe Sisco was the leading scorer with 14 while Mariya Sisco was leading rebounder with 9. Both Siscos tied for the most steals with 4.
