'Pig Out' returns to 3rd St.

Fairbury News staff

Members of the Dave's team serve customers on Third Street Tuesday afternoon.

A summertime tradition returned to Fairbury Tuesday with the annual Dave’s Supermarket Customer Appreciation Pig-Out.

The crowd enjoyed the usual 50-cent pork BBQ sandwiches, 25-cent hot dogs, watermelon, lemon shake-ups and other treats. Kids enjoyed face painting and balloons and the Golden Embers provided the live music.

It may have been a warm day, but those attending felt fortunate the forecasted showers and thunderstorms held off.

A crowd enjoys the shade of a tent while eating lunch at Dave's.

The Golden Embers perform (Robin McPherson, Rick Metz and Brian Steffen).
