Prairie Central High School will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony this Friday, Nov. 10.
Festivities will begin earlier in the day this year with the program starting at 8:15 am in the gymnasium. Immediately following the program veterans, active military, their families, and community members are invited for coffee and donuts in the cafeteria.
This year’s presenters will include members of Fairbury VFW post #9789, Fairbury American legion John Joda Post #54, Illinois State Representative Jason Bunting of the 106th legislative district, and Colonel Michael Haerr (Ret.) the Veterans Assistance Superintendent.
The high school band will perform musical selections and VFW’s Voice of Democracy participants will be announced. A traditional presentation of colors and playing of Taps will also be performed. Members of the Fairbury VFW post #9789 and Fairbury American Legion John Joda Post #54 color guard will participate in the ceremony.
The ceremony is open to all veterans, active military, their families, community members, and general public. Prairie Central High School is located at 411 North Seventh Street Fairbury, Illinois. Visitors should enter through the seventh street entrance on the south end of the gymnasium.
