Melba A. Zimmerman, 94, Fairbury, died at 6:22 am Friday, January 24, 2025 at Serenity Villa, Fairbury.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest with Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be in the North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Forrest.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Wednesday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Fairview Haven Retirement Community/Serenity Villa, Fairbury or SELCAS.
Mrs. Zimmerman was born December 13, 1930 in Fountain Creek, IL the daughter of Jacob and Sophie Farney Funk. She married Eldon Steffen on April 17, 1983 in Cissna Park, IL. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2008. She then married Allen Zimmerman on July 5, 2009 in Cissna Park, IL. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2021.
Survivors include her step children, Kenny (Patsy) Steffen, Tangier, IN, Terri Young, Peyton, CO, Marvin (Rhea) Steffen, Jon (Sandy) Steffen, both of Naples, FL, Greg (Darla) Steffen, Leroy, IL, Shelly (Ray) Steidinger, Cinda (Ivan) Fehr, Holly (Glen) Steidinger, all of Fairbury, IL, Kent (Paulette) Zimmerman, Forrest, IL, one daughter-in-law, Shirley Steffen, Chokoloskee, FL, one sister, Iva Stoller, Latty, OH, 37 step grandchildren and 92 step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by 2 step sons, Dean Steffen and Scott Zimmerman, one sister, Irene Stoller and a niece, Marsha Sheitlin.
Mrs. Zimmerman had been employed at FMC, Hoopeston for 30 years and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest.
