
Carol A. Taylor (nee Trowbridge) of Chatsworth, IL, transitioned into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at OSF St James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac, IL.
Cremation will be accorded following her gift to the Anatomical Gift Association.Â

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, IL is in charge of arrangements. There will be no services at this time. The family is planning a Celebration of Life, to be held at a later date.Â

Carol was born September 16, 1951, in Harvey, IL, the daughter of Leonard and Naomi Archer Trowbridge. She graduated Thornton Township High School in 1969 and went on to become a CNA at St Francis Hospital, Blue Island, IL. In 1972, Carol married Douglas J. Crick and settled in Chicago Heights, IL, where they raised their 3 children. In 1983, she became a professional bus driver, her true calling. She enjoyed driving a coach bus the most, as she traveled all over the United States and ultimately met the love of her life, Dave Taylor, in 1994, while driving one. Carol later married Dave in January of 1998 and they moved to Chatsworth, IL, where they enjoyed their golden years together until his passing in November of 2020.

Surviving are her children, Dawnna (Kyle) Strassenburg of St Anne, IL, Crysta (James) Stork of Fairbury, IL, and Joshwa Crick of Homewood, IL; grandchildren, Lucas Strassenburg, Timothy (Alexis) Strassenburg, Elijah (Marah) Helsel, Levis Strassenburg, Kyler Crick, Konnor Balbuena, Kasey Balbuena, Ramanda Taylor and Brittany Taylor; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Greer of Park Forest, IL and Brenda Steekley of South Holland, IL; aunt, Margaret Trowbridge of Indianapolis, IN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Â

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Douglas Crick, the love of her life, Dave Taylor, and two sons, Dacoda Calvin Trowbridge and Ravan Taylor.Â

Carol had a giving heart, if she wasn't helping her neighbors, she was volunteering at the Chatsworth Food Pantry or reading to friends at Connection Center inChatsworth. She loved all of God's creatures, big and small. Her heart was most full during family gatherings, when she could enjoy the company and chaos of her family in one big room.
