Vernon Lee Steidinger, 61, Punta Gorda, FL and formerly of Fairbury, died unexpectantly on Thursday, June 8, 2023 in Naples, FL.
Vernon was born September 30, 1961 in Fairbury the son of William “Gene” and Alice Nash Steidinger. He married Kimberly Mason on September 1, 1989 in Chenoa. She survives in Punta Gorda, FL.
Other survivors include one son, Justin (Tricia) Steidinger, Fairbury; one daughter, Abbey Steidinger, Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Gabi, Garrett, Gage, Gretchen, Ellie, Degun, and Coltyn; one great granddaughter, Lailani; one brother, Doug (Jeri) Steidinger, Forrest; one sister, Vicki (Ricky) Bane, Dana and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Angie “Pooh” Steidinger, two brothers, one nephew, Travis Steidinger, and his fury sidekick, Mason.
Vernon was a graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High school and was a truck driver for 43 years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was an avid Harley rider, racing fan and a Chicago Bears fan. He will be missed by many.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2023 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. His funeral will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 17, 2023 also at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be given to Overdose Awareness or Bikers for Ta-Tas. The family would like people to dress casually and to come as you are.
