Nancy Louise Steffen, 76, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at her home, from ALS. She had been under the care of her family and hospice.
Nancy was born on August 22, 1948, in Fairbury, IL to John and Edna (Ifft) Mueller.
She married Harvey Steffen on July 21, 1968, in Cropsey, IL. He survives in Phoenix as well as two sons, Dan (Nicole) Steffen of Peoria, AZ, and Paul Steffen of Phoenix, AZ, eight grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda), Luke, Abigail, Olivia, Eva, Derek, Alex, and Paige and two great-granddaughters, Millie and Keziah. Also surviving are two sisters, Donna (Levi, dec) Edelman, and Joanne (Charles) Steidinger, three brothers, Ron (Loida) Mueller, Chuck (Brenda) Mueller, and Art (Marlene) Mueller, and sister-in-law Elaine Mueller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Mueller and her sister Martha Mueller.
Nancy was educated in Forrest-Strawn-Wing Schools in Forrest, IL. In the summer of 1977, Harvey, Nancy and the boys moved to Phoenix, AZ. When the boys were raised, she attended Phoenix College, became a registered nurse and worked for a hospice. Later she served as Director of Nursing at a nursing home.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is planned for September 15 at 1:30 pm (MST) at Pure Heart Christian Church in Glendale, AZ, where she was an active member. Services will be live streamed on Pure Heart Church Glendale Campus YouTube channel. Private interment to be at a later date.
