Mark was born February 7, 1956 in Houston, TX; the son of Bobby Sadler and Ceylon Jean (Townsend) Sallee. He married Jodi Martin on July 25, 1990 in Friendswood, TX. His wife, Jodi survives in Fairbury.
Other survivors include his children, Crystal (Amy Nero) Larsen of Wonder Lake, IL; Mark "Robby" (Maddison Natzel) Sallee of Sioux Falls, SD; Kameron (Rachel) Sallee of Durant, OK; Tylo (Tyler) Garrels of Pontiac, IL; Denise Maldonado of Ft. McCoy, WI; one brother, Gregory (Jonelle) Sallee of Friendswood, TX; three grandchildren, Emily Nero, Samuel Garibo, and Charlotte Sallee; three nieces, Shannon (John) Moore, Jeana Sallee, and Sheela (Cyrus) Rachal.
Mark was a graduate of Friendswood High School and went on to get his degree in Hotel and Restaurant management from the University of Houston. He spent many years in the restaurant industry, later in the medical field, and most recently returned to his love for cooking and feeding the kids at the club in Fairbury. All who know Mark, knew that he was a great cook and made enough to serve a village. Something many may not have known about Mark is that he was a great musician including writing songs, and playing both electric and acoustic guitar as well as a singer.
Mark embraced the Northern Cheyenne and Crow traditions when he met Jodi including making fry bread for Indian tacos and even went as far as learning the traditions to be able to teach at Chief Dull Knife college in Lame Deer, MT.
Mark was a great brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandpa who always made anyone he encountered feel like family. We know he touched many lives that we have not mentioned. He will be deeply missed.
