James Robert Osborn, 43 of Bloomington, formerly of Fairbury, passed away at 4:40 pm, Saturday, September 21, 2024 in rural Ellsworth.
His funeral service will be 11 am, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Strawn Cemetery, Strawn.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 am, on Saturday, prior to his service at the church in Fairbury. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family of James R. Osborn.
James was born June 29, 1981 a son to James M. and Ellen (Huntley) Osborn. His maternal and paternal grandparents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Ellen (Bob) Angell of Fairbury; his father, James M. Osborn of Gibson City; siblings, Heidi (Chris) Draper of Bloomington; Nicholas (Tiffany) Osborn of Strawn; Misty Hickman of Delaware; Karrie (Darryl) Stellrecht of Bowling Green, KY; Brandy (Greg) Owens of Lincoln, NE; Jason (Deborah) Osborn of Lincoln, NE; and numerous nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends.
James was a 2000 graduate of Prairie Central High School. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Fairbury as a youth. James wasn’t afraid to talk to anyone, he really didn’t know a stranger. His life was not without struggles, problems seemed to find James no matter what. He overcame Alcohol and attended Alcoholics Anonymous in Bloomington receiving his coin for 13 years sobriety. His incredible smile and sensitive spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
