
Kenneth W. Kafer, 78, Fairbury, died Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at his residence in Mesa, AZ.
His funeral will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Burial will be at South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:30 to 10:30am Thursday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to SELCAS or the Prairie Central Boys and Girls Club.
Kenny was born March 10, 1946 in Weston, IL the son of Benjamin and Elsie Neth Kafer. He married Gail June Cox on November 6, 1965 in Cropsey, IL. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2022. He then married Marie Bernadette Dube’ on March 9, 2024. Bernie survives in Mesa, AZ.
Other survivors include his children, Kent (Amy) Kafer, Kevin (April) Kafer and Courtney (Mark) Farrell, all of Fairbury, IL, step-children, Jodi (Henry) Miller, Lori Biletsky and Todd (Danielle) Biletsky, all of Calgary, Canada; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Kylie and Karson Kafer, Katelynn (Jeremiah) Goad, Kolby (Gabby) Kafer, Tyler and Ella Farrell. He is also survived by many step grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters, Carol McGivern, Normal, IL, Eleanor (Jim) Mott, Bloomington, IL and two sisters-in-law, Gloria (Lyle) Ebach and Jeanne Kafer, both of Fairbury, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Kenny owned and operated Pontiac RV until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fairbury. He was an avid golfer, traveler, and entrepreneur. He loved to have a putter in his hands shooting for “birdie” at Indian Creek Country Club and Alta Mesa Golf Course, his home courses. Above all was his faith and love of family.
