Mark Alan Duncan, 62 of Fairbury passed away, surrounded by his children at 1:30pm, Friday, April 14, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mark will be held from 4 to 7pm, Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society.
Mark was born September 13, 1960 in Springfield, the son of James and Marilyn (Hayes) Duncan. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Marcus (Jill) Duncan of Forrest; Mathew (Gloria Miranda) Duncan of Bloomington; Lexie Duncan of Fairbury; and three grandchildren, Michael, Moses and Makayla Duncan.
Mark had been employed nearly 30 years at Diamond Star Mitsubishi in Normal IL. When Mark was not working at Mitsubishi, he was working at home doing the things he loved such as gardening, woodworking, landscaping, caring for his koi fish and listening to Rock n’ Roll BS’n with his family and buddies and tinkering in his garage.
On the rare occasion he was inside, he liked to watch ‘rasslin’, Nascar and watching “Big Foot” documentaries. He also loved to cook; he was an exceptional cook and made the best jalapeno poppers you would ever have! His last days in the hospital he had many nurses by his side and they all asked him what his favorite things to do was and he said to spend time with my kids and grandkids. He will be forever known as PAPA and will be loved and missed dearly.
