With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Wuebbens Aberle, a beloved mother, wife, cherished friend, and pillar of strength.
She was born on July 12, 1954, in Pontiac, Illinois, and departed after a battle with cancer on September 30th, 2023.
Throughout her life, Carol Aberle touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was known for her unwavering love, compassion, and kindness, which she generously shared with her family and friends. Her warm smile and gentle nature brought comfort and joy to those around her.
Carol Aberle dedicated her career to serving others in administrative roles. After 16 years of dedicated service, she retired as a billing administrator for Meadows Mennonite Home in 2017. She leaves a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Carol Aberle is survived by her loving family, including her sister Elaine Wuebbens Kalkwarf (Paul Kalkwarf), her devoted husband David Aberle, and her children Corrie Nichols (Jeff Nichols), Rhiannon Gerdes (Ronald Gerdes), Michael Aberle (Amber Aberle), and Megan Krowlek. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jacob Nichols (Olivia Lee), Jessica Nichols (Ryan Scott), Zachary Gerdes (Lauren Gerdes), Mackenzie Gerdes (Connor Shine), Connor Aberle, Holden Gerdes, Rheagan Aberle, Cheyenne Gilliam, and Friedrich Krowlek along with her great grandchild Braeton Gerdes. Also survived are her father-in-law, Lloyd Aberle; sister-in-law, Julie Timmons (Gregg Timmons); brother-in-law, Kent Aberle (Kiva Bostwick); and brother-in-law, Brian Aberle (Audrey Aberle); numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and beloved aunts and uncles.
Carol Aberle was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Folkerts Wuebbens, her father, Edward Wuebbens, her brother, Stanley Wuebbens, and her mother-in-law, Carol Martin Aberle. Although they are no longer with us, their memory and love will forever be cherished.
Private family services will be held at Center Cemetery outside Flanagan, IL. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Carol requests donations be made to cancer research and Richard Owens’s Hospice in her honor.
