A bid for new bleachers was approved by the Prairie Central Board of Education during the group’s regular February meeting held last week in Fairbury.

The bid was awarded to Vissering Construction Company in the amount of $541,600, according to information provided by Superintendent Paula Crane following the meeting. Two alternate bids were also accepted, including an extended sidewalk for $25,300 and blue powder coating for the bleachers at $3,200.

Work is expected to start in May with completion targeted for Aug. 10.

This app will be free to users, providing updated information about the district and its schools. The information can be managed by administrators and teachers via computer or mobile phone. Alerts can also be sent through text, voice or e-mail.
