Jon Goembel's 2024 reflections

January temperature seldom changed,

4-inch moisture, sometimes it snowed, sometimes it rained.

February days some nice others not.

March winds did blow a lot.

Early April wouldn’t you know –

The strong northwest wind continued to blow.

April rain then wind,

Soon planters would roll again.

With little delay, corn planted in early May.

June was very hot, windy and dry.

Amazing corn could grow so high.

By the Fourth of July, wheat harvest was complete.

With a lot of good help, hard to beat.

July and August were dry and hot.

A good rain would sure help a lot!

Fruit of our labor, watermelon – cold and sweet.

Early September a pleasure to eat.

Late September corn harvest underway.

Truck busy day after day.

October days keep getting drier,

Caution was used to prevent fires.

Fall work out of the way, November was here to stay,

Along with Thanksgiving Day.

December will soon be here,

Wishing you well this coming year.

Respectfully,

Jon Goembel 11-26-24
