The Prairie Central varsity boys basketball team won this year’s Livingston County rivalry game against Pontiac 67-39 which was our featured Friday night broadcast game on Fairbury News.
Hawk Coach Darin Bazzell attributed the victory to a solid defensive effort and controlling the paint. All of the 11 players that got in the game scored, according to Bazzell.
Trey Bazzell led the scoring with 17 points, Cooper Palmore added 9 while Dylan Bazzell came off the bench scoring 9 points with a couple of steals in the fourth quarter to close out the contest.
JV boys win:
The JV Hawk boys won 66-45 behind great defense, according to Coach Mike Wolf, holding Pontiac to 15 points in the second half of the game. It was a game-high 17 points for Dylan Bazzell. Drew Haberkorn contributed 14 while Drew Fehr had 9 and Levi Goad scored 7. The JV improves to 5-0.
Plano is the next opponent for all levels of boys basketball for a road game.
