Hawks fall in thriller Friday

Prairie Central’s football team moves to 1-2 on the season as the Hawks fell to the Spartans of St. Joseph-Ogden 26-19 Friday night.

In the game broadcast live on Fairbury News, PC drove down with the final drive of the game attempting to score the tying touchdown and came up short as Tyler Curl caught a pass but was tackled at the two-inch line as time ran out and the game ended.

SJO got the scoring going in the first quarter then PC answered in the second with a 47-yard run from Hudson Ault. SJO would follow-up with some field goals before the Hawks got within six points in the third. The Spartans scored again under the six minute mark in the fourth but the Hawks came within striking distance making the score 26-19 after a Caiden Schulz 85-yard kickoff return.

SJO is now 3-0 on the season. PC returns home to Fairbury next Friday night to battle Rantoul at Lewis Field. We will have the action once again on Fairbury News, your home for the Hawks.
