An area business which originally started in the fall of 2012 printing items like window stickers and semi decals has evolved into a downtown Fairbury business offering banners, signage, stickers and fleet graphics.

Aftershock Decals and Design plans to hold a grand opening celebration for its new storefront at the former Serendipity Cards and Gifts location at 116 E. Locust Street. The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. giving the community a chance to browse the offerings of apparel, yard signs and window stickers.

“We are going to have bag boards set up and some prizes to win,” explained Aftershock owner Kirk Leman. “I just want to give people a chance to come in and see what happens behind the scenes. I feel like a lot of people don’t always know what we do.”

Members of the public can come in and see the machines in action while enjoying some refreshments.

Aftershock continues to grow as they have added several employees over the years and simple signs have turned into bigger signs, lit signs and digital displays. They do more than just print stickers – they can create a new logo for your business, print banners for your next event and do one off personalized items.

“The thing about Fairbury is that I feel like we are on display all of the time. We are working on the store side of it more and more every day,” Leman said.

Aftershock already sees more foot traffic due to the ideal location near the post office. Ever since the business opened downtown in September, folks have stopped in to check the place out and see what it was all about.

“In Fairbury, you get a lot of positive vibes from other business owners and citizens,” Leman adds. “They are happy to see stuff come to town – they want to see buildings with businesses in them.”
