A good old breakfast on the farm will be served this Saturday, June 11 from 7 to 10 a.m. at Kilgus Farmstead south of Fairbury.
The annual tradition from the Livingston County Farm Bureau Young Leaders includes biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, milk, coffee and orange juice all for a donation of $1 per person. That dollar represents the approximate amount of money the farmer makes for growing or raising the ingredients. All proceeds go to Livingston County food pantries.
In addition to the meal on Saturday, those attending will be able to enjoy agricultural displays, tour the dairy farm and participate in activities for the entire family at no cost.
The Livingston County Farm Bureau Young Leaders is a group of young adults in the county with a connection to agriculture. The group works throughout the year to provide events and programs promoting ag in the community.
Kilgus Farmstead is a mile south of the Route 24/First Street stoplight in Fairbury.
