Join Fairbury News as we bring you live coverage from the first annual cruise-in with Midwest Real Street Machines in downtown Fairbury this Saturday.
We will be live on Facebook interviewing guests and bringing you close-ups of the cars on display near Gig’s Place and Sunken Park. The show begins at 4 p.m. featuring cars, trucks, motorcycles and hot-rods. Kent Casson will be spinning the oldies and serving as emcee.
“We’ve wanted to do this in years past but the dates have never jived,” said Doug Aaron, a volunteer with the group.
The show was originally intended to be held the morning of the Prairie Dirt Classic race at Fairbury Speedway but since that big race was postponed to next year, they decided to move the show back to the afternoon. Aaron is expecting around 100 cars.
Midwest Real Street Machines started a year ago in the Fairbury area with several locals involved and now has 1,300 members. The group’s president is Rich Sullens of Fairbury.
“Guys got together in Fairbury with the cars they’ve had since high school,” added Aaron.
