Court ready for parade

Children in this year's Fairbury Christmas court were all smiles at Serendipity Cards and Gifts this week as they prepare for the Christmas Parade on Saturday.

Look for the kids riding in the annual parade sponsored by the Fairbury Area Chamber of Commerce. Step-off is 11:30 a.m. and the parade runs through the downtown area. There are a number of other activities taking place in town as well.

This year’s court includes: Brianna Chester, daughter of Tonya and Jeffrey Chester; Elena Short, daughter of Celeste Koch and Adam Short; Harper Steidinger, daughter of Sarah and Kyle Steidinger; Jack Henkel, son of Janelle and Evan Henkel; Josey Gerber, daughter of Will and Kelly Gerber; Lucy Maher, daughter of Maggie and Cody Maher; Maddox Shafer, son of Jessica and Zach Shafer; and Owen Bassett, son of Emily and Andy Bassett.
