The Fairbury City Clerk is no longer employed by the city and there appears to be differing opinions regarding how the employment ended.
Nancy Widlacki told Fairbury News Tuesday afternoon she did not resign while City Attorney Steve Mann said it was his understanding that it is a resignation. Mann acknowledged that there were differences of opinion between Widlacki and the city on how she left the job.
A closed session was held at the end of last week’s regular Fairbury City Council meeting where a matter was reportedly discussed involving Widlacki, though no action was taken after the session.
Few details have been released surrounding the situation. In addition to city clerk, Widlacki served as fire department clerk, zoning administrator and swimming pool manager.
