An old building in downtown Cropsey collapsed early Sunday and all that's left is a pile of rubble.
The structure housed the last general store in McLean County, Popejoy's Happy Time store, which sold everything from food and clothing to toys and watches. Fairburynews.net has learned that the business was owned and operated through the late 1970's by Frank and Harry Popejoy.
There were no reports of injuries and information on the owner was not immediately available. A local firefighter said they rarely receive emergency calls in Cropsey other than medical-related issues and occasional accidents in the country.
They are finally clearing the debris, and I hope the Post office opens back up soon.
