If you’re suffering from the winter blues, the Specialty Shops of Fairbury have a cure!
Brighten up these cold and dreary months with a shopping spree during the Beat the Winter Blues event, going on Friday and Saturday, January 17-18, starting at 9 am.
There’s no better time to take advantage of season-ending sales and discounts. Make your home merry and bright with new décor or furniture, or freshen up your wardrobe with the latest trends at one of Fairbury’s boutiques. If food lifts your mood, drop by Dave’s Supermarket to buy a few yummy goodies. Farmers, planting season is just around the corner, so stop by Fairbury Fastener & Supply to stock up on repair parts.
Participating shops include Dave’s Supermarket, Fairbury Fastener & Supply, Fairbury Furniture, Heart’s Desire Antiques & Accents, Lost Arts, Nature’s Designs by Tiff, Once ‘n Again, Serendipity Cards & Gifts, The Spotted Owl, and WC Market.
While you’re out and about, stop by Once ‘n Again for their 18 th Annual Food & Necessity Drive. Until the 31 st, get 20% off your purchase by donating thoughtful and useful canned food or necessity items. This yearly tradition started when they learned that food pantries receive fewer donations during winter. All donations to the Fairbury store location will go to the Fairbury Community Food Pantry. For the official donation list and more information, please visit the store website at www.oncenagain.com.
If you’re looking to start your morning off right, visit the Fairbury VFW for breakfast on January 18 th. From 7 to 11 am, they’re serving scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy with milk or coffee. The VFW holds breakfasts every month, so if you can’t make it this time, make sure to check Fairbury’s calendar online ( www.fairburycalendar.com) for the next date.
Please share your stories, ideas, and suggestions with us! You can send them in by emailing fairbury@fairburyILattractions.com or by calling (815) 692-4500. To speak with someone in person, you can visit Specialty Shops coordinator Bobbi McKeon at Heart’s Desire on Route 24 in Fairbury.
