“I am so proud of my girls because at one point, we were down by 8-9 points and came back to win the set,” said PC head volleyball coach Kirsten Smith. “Volleyball is a very momentum-based sport and once you lose the momentum, you have to work twice as hard to gain it back and that is what our girls did tonight.”
It was the biggest night of blocking yet for the Hawks. PC is now 21-9 and will play in the Mahomet tournament Saturday and start their regional round on Tuesday.
Sophomores lost 2-0 (23-25, 17-25) and the freshman won 2-1 (25-21, 20-25, 15-6).
